VISIT VOX
At Vox Dei Community, we consider it a privilege when guests gather with us on Sunday mornings. We want you to feel welcome when you visit us so here are some quick answers to common questions about our Sunday gathering. When and Where are your services? Our Sunday Gathering is in our church building at 622 2nd Street, Belton, Missouri. Additional parking is available across the street. At 10am, we have a time for coffee and connecting. At 10:30, worship begins in the sanctuary. You can drop your kids off in the Nursery or downstairs for Kid's Vox at 10:15am. What should I wear? We have a casual atmosphere. You will find a range of dress styles from jeans and t-shirts to slacks and dresses. Therefore, come dressed in whatever makes you comfortable and you will fit right in! What can I expect when I get there? When you walk into our building, you will find refreshments in our Café and information at our Connection Center. You can pick up a copy of our printed Communiqué to find out what is happening in the life of our church and grab a cup of coffee before you settle into your seat. What are your services like? Our services include a remix of classical elements with a modern flavor. Acoustic contemplative music brings us into an awareness of God and we respond with prayer. Our pastor offers rich thoughtful messages formed by Scripture. Our weekly celebration of communion is one way we remember with gratitude that Christ died for us. What is there for my family? During the 9 am hour, children have special fun activities and students (5th-12th grade) have their own group which includes learning, special projects, and often donuts! During the worship hour after the children are dismissed, they gather together to hear a story from Scripture and to respond to it in age-appropriate small group environments before rejoining with the whole community at the communion table. To assure the safety of our children we have a check-in process for all children age 0 thru' 4th grade. Stop by the children's check-in station in the main hallway to register and receive a name tag for your child. Where do I go for questions? You may talk with any of our friendly hosts and they will be happy to assist you with any questions you have about Vox Dei Community. How can I get to know other people? We have an event especially designed for newcomers, Prologue, which happens periodically throughout the year. It is an easy way to get an introduction to Vox and ask questions. It also provides a chance to meet the pastoral leadership. In addition, we form small groups around special interests such as parenting, finances, or offer Bible studies and sermon-based discussion groups that meet on Sundays at 9 am or in homes during the week. You are also welcome to jump in and serve alongside us in any of our monthly service opportunities. We invite you to join us! We hope your connection to Christ and will be strengthened because of your time with us. Our ministry focuses on three things — Receiving, Relating, and Responding. As a church family, we are learning to listen to God and receive his grace, to be formed together in relationships centered on God’s story, and to respond to God’s invitation to join him in his mission in the world. We invite you to join with us. |
